Colorado State’s New AD Talks Lax

It’s nothing concrete, but the new AD at Colorado State University (Jack Graham, recently spoke about adding varsity lacrosse.  Any interest froim the AD is a good thing, and most would agree that lax would be a logical addition at CSU.

Graham: I would love to add lacrosse to our list of athletic programs. In fact, I intend to make certain that the design we adopt for our on-campus stadium will enable us to use the new stadium for Lacrosse.

However, we do have to be careful that we don’t put too many things on our plate too soon. We must prioritize all of the needs and opportunities that are facing us. Lacrosse, women’s and men’s soccer and men’s and women’s hockey would all be great additions.

Moving to D1 Soon?

The Rams have a storied MCLA program and would enter with two nearby rivals – Denver and Air Force.  Given the state’s love of lacrosse and the success of the Outlaws and Mammoth at the gate, having another D1 program would send a strong message about the game’s prominence in the west.

It will be interesting to see how this develops…
