The fine folks at the Dubuque Lacrosse Association have sent me the following information regarding lacrosse in Northeast Iowa.

Below are some lacrosse activities happening this fall.

1. Dubuque Lacrosse Association has partnered with the YMCA of Dubuque to provide boys, girls, and parents with more opportunities to learn the game! The game of lacrosse is fast-growing in popularity for kids everywhere. YMCA Lacrosse is a great place to introduce your child to the sport of lacrosse. They will gain valuable experience while learning the rules and skills of the game, in a positive, recreational environment. Don’t miss out on all the action! Join us for our fall lacrosse 6 week session starting September 13 for $15 member and $30 non-member . Your kids will learn how to hold the stick, cradle, throw & catch, and pick-up ground balls. Our goal is for each kid to learn how to play lacrosse and continue to want to play the sport of lacrosse!
2. Dubuque Lacrosse Association will be hosting lacrosse sessions on Tuesday night starting August 21 at 6pm at Veteran Park. Cost is $30 or $10 for anyone that signs up with the YMCA lacrosse session on Thursday night.  The cost will help purchase lacrosse balls, new net, and  other lacrosse needs. Tuesday session players will be required have a helmet, shoulder pads, and lacrosse sticks. Your kids will learn how to hold the stick, cradle, throw & catch, and pick-up ground balls with some contact.
3. Fall Lacrosse Leagues in Madison Wi: Below are 2 options with links on the leagues and Dubuque Lacrosse Association special pricing. If you have interest in playing send me a reply to discuss car pooling and registering with special pricing:

Dubuque is the first city in Iowa to sponsor a men’s NCAA lacrosse program.  The city sponsors two women’s programs as well.  The University of Dubuque fields teams in both genders and Loras offers women’s lacrosse.
